Hello I'm Darren Haston from Goodlettsville Tennessee which is only about 10 minutes north of downtown Nashville, Music City USA as it's been called. For those that don't know much about me I thought I’d share a little about myself and my background. A little over 5 years ago I decided to make a huge step in my life and made a major career change. After spending much of my early adult life working for a family owned business, then starting my own business, I was given the opportunity to take what I thought a “dream job”.  Being a musician myself I was offered a job building custom guitars with one of the largest guitar companies in the world. Now don't get me wrong it was a great job for a while, but after so long and once the new wore off it was just a J.O.B. for those of you that dont know what that stands for, Just Over Broke. Of course most people will automatically associate broke with money but I was broke all over. Yes money was a factor since the company hadn’t given raises in about 5 or 6 years, and the last one I did got was ten whole cents. Yup, you read correct, .10 cents. Going into my last year working there I was miserable. I’m not a morning person and getting up at 4:30 in the morning was taking its toll. I thought about finding another J.O.B. After the thought of having to find something I enjoyed doing then thinking about probably having to start out taking a pay cut, starting over vacation days, insurance, I finally said the heck with it and stayed where I was. STUCK. That's how I felt, STUCK. If you've ever been in a situation and felt stuck then you know what I’m talking about and know the feeling. By December of 2015 I was fed up, it was time to take some action. The first thing I did was to get out my copy of one of my favorite books, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I've carried that copy with me for over 30 years. It gave me the motivation to finally take action and find a true purpose. After putting in a lot of time and reflection I found a path I never expected or ever thought about in my life. In January 2016 I enrolled in Barber College. It took 2 years for me to complete school. Working 6-2:30 then to school 3-8. It was a long 2 years but I can say it was well worth it. I got my State License April 2, 2018. The plan was to work about 6 months, cut hair part time, and then that plan changed pretty quick. On May 1st the company I had been at for 15 years filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. It was almost as if the Universe was telling me to go ahead and get out. After talking with my wife the first weekend in May it was decided and the following Monday morning I turned in My notice. 3 weeks later I was self employed and working in a Barber Shop. It truly has turned out to be a blessing. I also recently became a Certified Instructor with The Napoleon Hill Foundation. Having read his book Think and Grow Rich when I was 18 years old and having to live a lot of life, learn some lessons, and some the hard way, it helped lead me to a path I may not have found or given me the courage to make such a change in my mid 40’s.  I was motivated to get this certification to teach a program Hill created, The Science of Success.  Why?
  • To help others find a true purpose
  • To show it's never too late to start
  • To share a system that has proven itself to help countless others succeed
As my clientele has grown and continues to, I have more time and have been drawn back into an area I got interested in long ago in the area of Internet Marketing and product creation. Being a part of a program taught by one of the top Internet Marketing leaders, John Thornhill, I look forward to see where this journey leads.
